iBake Software was formed by Mel and Sam Steele in 2005.
   
Mel's Background
Mel has been in the baking industry for most of her life. As a child she used to go to work with her mum who worked as a cake decorator. Mel spent most weekends and school holidays watching and helping her mum.

After finishing school Mel started her apprenticeship in a cake shop, where she worked for 5 ½ years. Mel enjoyed all areas of her work, especially cake decorating, mostly wedding and novelty cakes. Mel was always very fussy with the quality of her work and attention to detail.

Mel maintains her Sugary Affair website - show casing her Mother and Mel's cakes.

Mel's Achievements:

• 2nd place in the Wollongong bread show for wedding cake
• Most outstanding student in Practical 3rd year at TAFE. 
• Most outstanding student in Theory 3rd year at TAFE.
• 1st in Primary Cake Modules 2nd year at TAFE.
• 1st in Primary Pastry Modules 2nd year at TAFE.
• Most outstanding student in Theory 2nd year at TAFE.
• 2nd in Illawarra Regional World skills/ Pastry cooking

Mel became interested in the technology side of the industry and now specialises in creating websites, graphics design and software for the baking industry. Mel is currently working on a software program for the baking industry which will help choosing your wedding cake much easier and fun!

Sam's Background
Sam started in the IT industry in 2001. Sam has been involved in many aspects of the IT industry such as Network administration, Systems Administration and Web Administration.

Mel and Sam have combined their skills to form iBake Software and help guide the baking industry into the technological era.
